Thermal insulated fabric is designed to retain body heat and provide warmth in cold conditions. It achieves this through a combination of materials and structures that trap air, which acts as an insulator.
How Octa® fabric is different?
Octa® filament has an octopus-like cross-section with 8 projections, which create air gaps that enhance heat shielding and insulation properties. That unique fiber structure makes Octa® fabrics roughly 50% lighter than regular polyester materials of similar thickness.

Octa® Thermofly / Non-Brushed
The new structure features a unique, bulky plush design without brushing. It’s a double raschel knitted fabric precisely cut in half. The middle nodes use Octa, Teijin Frontier’s advanced hollow-core fiber with eight radial fins. The fabric incorporates a special dyeing technology to enhance Octa’s crimping and stabilize its plush structure. This results in exceptional comfort, with heat insulation (lightweight bulkiness and warmth) and yarn tips on the skin side that evenly absorb sweat and dry quickly
